Production Manager

The Production Manager – is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the entire baking production process to ensure efficient operations, consistent product quality, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. The role requires effective leadership, process control, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets, minimize costs, and maintain a safe working environment.
2. Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Plan and oversee daily operations to meet production schedules and demand requirements.
- Monitor process flow, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower, materials, and machinery.
- Implement effective production controls to minimize waste, downtime, and rework.
- Maintain accurate records on production output, efficiency, and material usage.
Quality & Food Safety
- Ensure all baked products meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and relevant food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Conduct regular inspections of the production area for cleanliness and hygiene compliance.
Manpower & Team Development
- Supervise and lead production supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
- Conduct training and coaching to improve staff competency and performance.
- Prepare shift schedules and ensure sufficient manpower coverage for all operations.
- Foster teamwork, discipline, and accountability across the production team.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Coordinate with the Maintenance/ Facilities Department to ensure proper upkeep and preventive maintenance of machinery.
- Report and monitor equipment breakdowns and ensure timely repair to minimize downtime.
- Promote safe operating practices and proper handling of all production equipment.
Cost & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Monitor and analyse production KPIs to enhance line efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Kaizen initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all production activities comply with occupational health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and risk assessments.
- Promote a culture of safety and responsibility within the production area.

- Product quality and rejection rate

- Compliance with food safety and audit standards
- Cost and waste reduction performance
4. Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in food manufacturing or bakery production, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management abilities
- In-depth knowledge of production processes and equipment
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 food safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in production planning and reporting systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
5. Working Conditions
- Factory-based environment with exposure to heat, machinery, and fast-paced operations.
- May be required to work in shifts or extended hours based on production needs.
