The Opportunity

Mesiniaga Berhad, an established Information & Communication Technology company, is seeking a talented Backend Developer (Python / Django REST Framework) to join their team on a 6-month contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable backend services for our enterprise ticketing and operations system, integrating real-time communication and automation features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django REST Framework (DRF).
  • Design and optimize RESTful APIs for integration with web and mobile applications.
  • Implement real-time features using Django Channels and WebSockets.
  • Build and manage asynchronous task processing with Celery, Redis, and potentially RabbitMQ.
  • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases.
  • Participate in UAT, testing, deployment, and monitoring of backend systems.
  • Support Docker-based development and deployment environments.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend and mobile teams to ensure seamless system integration.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in backend development with Python and Django.
  • Strong understanding of REST API design, WebSockets, and real-time communication.
  • Hands-on experience with Django Channels, Celery, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
