About the Job

In this position, you will be part of the expanding tech team and take responsibility for backend development, primarily with web applications. This is a senior role where you will also contribute in the mentoring of juniors, and shape the technical direction of the team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and backend systems using and PostgreSQL.
  • Lead API design and implementation discussions, ensuring strong authentication authorization frameworks.
  • Define, document, and enforce backend engineering standards and best practices.
  • Implement and uphold API and data security best practices, including secure data handling, encryption, and protection against common vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, XSS).
  • Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas to ensure data integrity, efficiency, and performance.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, conducting code reviews and providing technical support and skill development.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, especially for web applications
  • Experience with and TypeScript for server-side applications.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including database architecture, query optimization, and migration management.
  • Extensive experience with or frameworks
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, versioning, and documentation tools such as OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Expertise in authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, RBAC).
  • In-depth knowledge of API and data security best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of resolving complex backend challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring or leading engineering teams.
