Water Treatment Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control the water treatment process flows for the plant, including influent/effluent quality, chemical dosing, clarifiers, filters and disinfection.
  • Conduct sampling, process data collection and analysis to check system performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist operations and maintenance in troubleshooting process issues, working with contractors or subcontractors as required.
  • Support commissioning and system optimisation tasks for new or upgraded treatment units.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation: SOPs, risk assessments, logs, performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable water-treatment, environmental and safety regulations.
  • Liaise closely with project engineering, operations, maintenance teams and external vendors.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (efficiency, cost, quality, reliability).

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in water/wastewater treatment operations or process engineering.
  • Knowledge of water treatment processes and regulatory standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Good communication and reporting skills in English; Bahasa Malaysia an advantage.
