We are hiring

We are seeking a highly capable and driven Finance Lead - Finance Operations to join our finance team. This role will be pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, adherence to regulatory requirements, and enhancing cross-functional collaboration to drive scalable finance workflows and reporting structures.

The ideal candidate brings a balance of strong financial acumen, operational expertise, and excellent communication skills. You will be expected to work cross-functionally and act as a trusted finance partner to the business supporting and influencing key decisions across departments.

About the job

Financial & Regulatory Reporting

• Oversee timely and accurate preparation of financial and regulatory reports in accordance with local and international accounting standards.

Daily Finance Operations

• Oversee day-to-day finance activities including settlements, reconciliations, and refunds. Ensure smooth execution and adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Business Partnership

• Work closely with teams across operations, compliance, risk, fraud, treasury, and product to align financial processes with business needs and regulatory expectations.
• Act as a strategic partner — providing financial insights and influencing decisions through sound analysis and clear communication.

Process Design & Optimization

• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable finance workflows, reporting structures, and SOPs to meet evolving business and compliance needs.
• Drive initiatives that promote standardization, automation, and operational efficiency.

Product & Reporting Development

• Collaborate with product and business teams to define finance-related requirements for new initiatives, develop custom reports, and ensure finance's perspectives are reflected in end-products.

Audit & Compliance Support

• Support internal and external audits. Ensure timely provision of documentation and resolution of audit queries.
• Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and contractual obligations.

Ad-Hoc Projects

• Participate in strategic and cross-functional projects, providing finance input and support as needed.

To be successful

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance; professional certifications (e.g. ICAEW, CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance, ideally within a financial institution or regulated environment.
• Experience in external audit within the financial services industry is a strong advantage.
• Deep understanding of financial reporting and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial matters to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and/or financial reporting tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL etc.).
• Self-motivated and adaptable to fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Prior experience in fintech, payments, or other financial services.
• Familiarity with finance systems, ERP platforms, and process automation tools.
• Experience leading or contributing to finance transformation initiatives.
