1. Leadership
· Contribute to the formulation and dissemination of the faculty's/centre's strategic plan
· Ensuring effective representation of the program's interests within and outside the university and the activities of the program are undertaken in accordance with the governance, policy and regulatory frameworks of the university
· Interact with stakeholders, such as professional bodies, relevant authorities and potential employers, as appropriate to the program
· Develop collaborations across programs, faculties/centres, university, strategic alliance partners and with other institutions both nationally and internationally
· Monitor and regularly review the performance of the program against agreed objectives, and report regularly to the dean/director
2. Academic Management
· Oversee the provision and delivery of a high quality learning experience to students
· Ensure that the quality and standards of the program are maintained and enhanced
· Lead in curriculum review and development and ensure improvements in subject/module performance, student activity/project completion program completion
· Participate in accreditation processes and preparation of MQA documentation, implementation of Quality Management System (QMS), compliance and management of the (QMS) KPIs
· Collaborate with the dean/director to ensure the quality enhancement and assurance processes of all the work of the program
· Support innovation in blended learning initiative, program/subject/module design and delivery, learning, teaching and assessment methods
3. Student Management
· Manage student expectations and monitor student satisfaction in the program including ensuring effective and efficient feedback mechanisms are in place
· Handle day to day queries on program matters, student needs/complaints on academic matters, student briefing, soft skills development
· Counsel students on study plan, graduation requirements, selection of majors/subjects/modules, progression, transfer, etc
· Monitor, in conjunction with other stakeholders, and, where necessary, take appropriate action to improve
· the number of applications to the program
· acceptances and entry qualifications
· progression/attrition through the stages of the program
· student achievement in terms of degree classifications (including an analysis of trends)
