Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced
MEP Project Manager
to oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works for a hyperscale data center project in the Klang Valley. The ideal candidate will have a
general contractor or main contractor background
, with proven experience managing large-scale, technically complex construction projects. The role involves full project lifecycle management, from design coordination through to commissioning and handover, ensuring compliance with international standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all MEP construction activities on-site for the data center project, ensuring alignment with project objectives, budget, and schedule.
  • Oversee MEP design development and coordination with consultants, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Review MEP shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building management systems.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures for MEP works.
  • Manage commissioning and testing of all MEP systems, ensuring they meet operational and safety requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with procurement, planning, and contracts teams to ensure timely delivery of MEP materials and services.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders regarding project status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site.
  • Mentor and guide site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a
    MEP management role
    on large-scale projects.
  • Proven track record in
    general contractor or main contractor roles
    , preferably in data centers, industrial facilities, or large commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and BMS.
  • Experience with international standards such as
    ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, or equivalent
    .
  • Excellent project management, planning, and coordination skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
