Position Overview

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Network Engineer to join their IT department. This role involves taking full responsibility for the design, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network systems — including wireless, switching, cabling, and security infrastructure. The right candidate will have deep technical expertise in Cisco and Palo Alto environments, strong analytical thinking, and excellent cross-team communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Wi-Fi

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) and Access Points
  • Diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity, and coverage problems
  • Oversee wireless operations using Cisco Prime Infrastructure
  • Conduct routine configuration backups and implement necessary security updates

Switching

  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches across core, distribution, access, and top-of-rack layers
  • Monitor and manage switch infrastructure through Cisco Prime Infrastructure
  • Perform scheduled updates, configuration reviews, and backups

Cabling

  • Detect and fix issues in both copper and fiber cabling
  • Coordinate and oversee external cabling vendors during maintenance or repair work

Network Security

  • Administer authentication and authorization for campus, guest, and VPN networks using Cisco ISE
  • Configure and manage firewall policies on Palo Alto and Cisco Firepower systems
  • Maintain LAN ACLs, perform regular backups, and apply firmware or security patches as needed

Documentation

  • Keep detailed records of network configurations, inventory, and change logs
  • Manage support requests, warranty claims, and communication with vendors
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and user/IT team guides

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on network engineering experience
  • Solid technical knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto platforms
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication abilities
  • Self-driven learner with adaptability to emerging technologies
  • Proficiency in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus

Preferred (Bonus) Experience

  • Virtualization: VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, SRM, vROps)
  • Backup & BCP: Veeam Backup & Replication, NetApp Snapshots, VMware SRM
  • Storage: NetApp (NFS, CIFS, Snapshots, backup solutions)
  • Unified Communications: Cisco CUCM, Unity voicemail, and voice gateways
  • Microsoft Infrastructure: AD, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, SCOM, CA, NDES
  • Identity & Cloud Integration: Google Workspace and Azure AD (SSO, MFA)

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible schedule)
