Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an In-House Legal Advisor (Mandarin)
who thrives outside the traditional law firm scene and enjoys a dynamic role overseeing contracts, compliance, and intellectual property while shaping business strategy
What You'll Do
- Contract & Agreement Management
Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents including:
- Shareholders' Agreements and Joint Venture Agreements
- Licensing, Supply, Distribution, and Consignment Agreements
- Talent, Endorsement, and Collaboration Contracts
- Employment and Confidentiality Agreements
Maintain and update contract templates, legal clauses, and standard terms.
Corporate & Compliance
Advise management on compliance with the Companies Act 2016, Employment Act, PDPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with the company secretary on statutory filings and board resolutions.
Review company policies, employee handbooks, and internal SOPs for legal soundness.
Intellectual Property & Brand Protection
Oversee trademark, copyright, and patent filings locally and internationally (via MyIPO, Madrid Protocol, etc.).
- Advise on IP ownership, licensing, and infringement issues.
- Manage IP portfolios and maintain registration records.
Draft and review IP-related contracts (licensing, assignment, royalty, and collaboration agreements).
Dispute Resolution & Risk Management
Provide advice on potential disputes, breaches, or legal claims.
- Liaise with external counsel on litigation or arbitration matters.
Identify potential risks in new business ventures and propose mitigation strategies.
Corporate Projects & Strategic Support
Support strategic partnerships, mergers, or acquisitions within the CTG Group.
- Participate in structuring joint ventures, phantom share plans, and equity incentives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
- Fluency in
Mandarin, English & Malay
; strong
English writing skills - Strong communication, reporting, and logical thinking
- Team player with high EQ; able to work independently
- Professional appearance; willing to work on weekends when required
