Senior Account Executive

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle full set of accounts (AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliation).
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Review accounting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with MFRS (Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Analyze variances and provide explanations to management.
  • Review supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely payments to vendors and accurate aging reports.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer receivables.
  • Verify credit notes, debit notes, and journal entries.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure all accruals, prepayments, and journal adjustments are properly recorded.
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
  • Assist in tax computation, SST submissions, and other statutory filings.
  • Liaise with tax agents, auditors, and company secretaries on compliance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor company liquidity.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning activities.
  • Analyze expenditure trends and recommend cost control measures.
  • Supervise and guide junior accountants or account assistants.
  • Review work entries and provide training to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinate with other departments (HR, Sales, Procurement) for financial data and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (LCCI, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) are an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of working experience in audit firm.
  • Experience in property development, construction, or trading industry preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software (SQL, AutoCount, UBS, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
