JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Oversee all legal and contractual matters within the Company.
  2. Provide legal and secretarial advice to the Board of Directors and Senior Management.
  3. Act as a legal advisor to division/departments and ensure full compliance with statutory/regulatory requirements and relevant acts, e.g., Companies Act 1965, Employment Act, MCCG, SSM, etc.
  4. Manage and monitor all contracts, agreements, transactional documents, and other legally related matters.
  5. Review and recommend the appointment of external panel solicitors.
  6. Handles litigation matters, e.g., collecting evidence, liaising with panel solicitors, and preparation of court/cause paper.
  7. Manage and monitor Board Papers, minutes, resolutions, and other secretarial matters.
  8. Liaise closely with the Company Secretary.
  9. Undertake all duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required by management.
  10. Assist in the resolution of disputes or claims involving contract matters, such as contract-related matters or non-compliance with standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent.
  2. Preferably with knowledge of ICSA or Governance.
  3. Minimum 5 years of working experience, with a background in corporate or commercial law.
  4. Being admitted and having experience as an Advocate & solicitor is an added advantage.
  5. Excellent knowledge and experience of corporate law, contract law, and litigation.
  6. Demonstrate proficiency in contract drafting, negotiating, and reviewing.
  7. Good command of FIDIC & contract management.
  8. Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English, oral & written.
  9. Possess strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  10. Familiar with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning services.
