About the role

Peninsula Precision Stamping (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a skilled Tool Maintenance professional to join our team in Gelang Patah, Johor. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving stamping press tooling (dies, jigs, and fixtures) to ensure smooth production operations, minimize downtime, and maintain product quality. This position requires strong technical skills in mechanical maintenance, die setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of stamping tools.

What you'll be doing

  1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on stamping press tools, dies, and related equipment.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair tooling issues such as burrs, misalignment, breakage, or dimensional inaccuracies.
  3. Conduct die setup, fitting, and try-out to ensure proper function before production runs.
  4. Maintain tooling records, including repair history, tool life tracking, and maintenance logs.
  5. Modify or improve existing dies and tooling for performance, quality, or efficiency improvement.
  6. Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve tooling-related problems.
  7. Ensure all tooling is properly cleaned, lubricated, and stored after use.
  8. Follow safety procedures and 5S practices within the tooling and press area.
  9. Support new tooling installation, commissioning, and trials.
  10. Assist in root cause analysis for tooling failures and propose preventive actions.

Qualification

  1. Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or related field.
  2. Minimum 2–5 years experience in stamping press tooling maintenance.
  3. Strong knowledge of progressive, compound, and single dies.
  4. Skilled in tool grinding, fitting, and machining operations.
  5. Familiar with press machine operation (mechanical/hydraulic) and safety systems.
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and die schematics.
  7. Good problem-solving, teamwork, and attention to detail.
