Job Purpose:

To ensure all raw materials, packaging materials, in-process, and finished goods meet the company's quality and food safety standards through systematic inspection, monitoring, documentation, and corrective actions in accordance with ISO, GMP, and HALAL requirements.

Education, Qualifications & Training

• Minimum Diploma in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent

Experience, Skills or Specialized Knowledge / Language / Ability to Travel

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Able to understand English and Malay (Mandarin is an added advantage)
• Able to comprehend quality and production-related forms and records
• Familiar with GMP, HACCP, and HALAL requirements
• Willing to work overtime and follow shift duty roster

Job Descriptions: Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities / ActivitiesTasks under Incoming Quality & Food Safety Control (IQFSC):

• Ensure all materials used as ingredients and finished goods released are traceable with complete records in the traceability form.
• Verify and ensure all allergen materials are defined, segregated, labeled, and properly stored (chilled and ambient).
• Verify pre- and post-examination of Critical Control Points (CCP) such as chillers for optimum temperature.
• Inspect incoming raw and packaging materials according to standard samples and FIFO principle.
• Obtain and verify standard samples for new packaging from the Design and Development Department prior to inspection.
• Ensure customer-supplied ingredients and packaging comply with company standards in quality, safety, and HALAL requirements.
• Verify and ensure Sanitary SOP compliance for both allergen and non-allergen materials.

Tasks under In-Progress Quality & Food Safety Control (IPQFSC) from Premix to Palletising:

• Conduct in-process product inspections according to the IPQFSC plan and record results in the designated form.
• Verify pre- and post-sanitization of machinery and tools as carried out by the Production Department.
• Verify pre- and post-examination of CCP equipment such as weighing scales, metal detectors, sealing testers, and refractometers.
• Monitor and correct food handling practices related to personnel, machinery, and environmental hygiene.
• Assist in CCP monitoring and related food safety record maintenance.
• Assist in material requests for production and QC usage.

Tasks under Outgoing Quality & Food Safety Control (OQFSC):

• Inspect finished goods according to OQFSC plans and record results accordingly.
• Ensure all outgoing products bear valid OQFSC labels and are stored under optimum conditions.

Tasks under Plant Cleanliness & Environmental Control:

• Organize and monitor daily cleaning activities per the cleaning schedule and work instructions.
• Verify cleanliness in all assigned areas (AHU filters, Changing Rooms, Warehouses, Landscaping, Toilets, Canteen, etc.).
• Assist outsourced contractors (e.g., Bomba, TNB, Pest Control, Air Handling Unit) during inspections.
• Monitor chemical stock for cleaning and control floor usage.
• Track pest control parameters and monitor infestation status daily.
• Verify recycling materials and ensure waste segregation procedures are followed.
• Check first aid items, report shortages, and record any machine breakdowns or tool malfunctions.

Tasks under Quality Documentation:

• Ensure full understanding and compliance with incoming, in-progress, and outgoing quality plans.
• Record and segregate nonconforming materials, report rejections, provide corrective measures, and monitor results.
• Maintain all QC records, reports, and documents accurately and on time.
• Assist QA in NCR (Non-Conformity Report) handling and corrective actions.
• Train QC staff and interns on daily quality control routines.
• Ensure personal hygiene, quality, safety, and 5S implementation at all times.
• Participate in company CSR activities and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Descriptions: Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Customer complaints on product quality: ≤ 10 cases annually
• Total rejected QC cases (IQFSC, IPQFSC, OQFSC): ≤ 20 cases annually
• IQFSC rejections: ≤ 5 cases
• IPQFSC rejections: ≤ 10 cases
• OQFSC rejections: ≤ 5 cases
• Food safety nonconformities (physical, chemical, biological): 0 cases monthly
• CCP failures: 0 cases per month
• Compliance with Food Safety and Quality Policy (HALAL JAKIM/MUI, HACCP)
• Compliance with 5S, Safety, and GMP requirements
• Compliance with Company Rules and ISO 9001:2015 SOPs
• Participation in risk assessment and prompt reporting of incidents or near misses
• Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness
