Job Purpose

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), IT Vendor Management is responsible for managing the bank's IT vendors and ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and value delivery. This role plays a key part in governance, contract negotiation, and end-to-end vendor lifecycle management, ensuring alignment between vendor capabilities and the bank's technology and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Strategy and Relationship Management

  • Develop and implement vendor management strategies aligned with IT and business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and service providers.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor-related issues and performance concerns.

Contract Negotiation and Management

  • Lead and oversee contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation.
  • Review and manage contractual obligations, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal procurement policies.

Governance and Performance Monitoring

  • Establish and maintain vendor governance frameworks, including periodic performance reviews and audits.
  • Monitor vendor performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance service delivery through vendor collaboration.

Risk and Compliance

  • Identify and manage risks related to third-party engagements.
  • Ensure vendors comply with the bank's security, compliance, and data protection requirements.
  • Work closely with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams on vendor-related matters.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal teams including IT, Procurement, Legal, and Finance to align vendor strategies.
  • Provide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior management on vendor performance and value realization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT vendor management or a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong experience in contract negotiation, vendor governance, and performance management.
