Job Brief:

Ensure compliance with the Company's Underwriting and Treaty Guidelines, including determining retention levels and managing referrals.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all underwriting matters adhere to the Company's Underwriting and Treaty Guidelines.
  2. Explore business opportunities, especially within new Ecosystems such as digital Platforms.
  3. Provide timely and competitive quotations and technical support to Marketers, Agents, Brokers, and other Partners.
  4. Market Underwriting, including meetings/negotiations with all Distribution Partners.
  5. Establish a Growth Business Plan for the respective Portfolio and follow up on its execution and implementation.
  6. Build a relationship with professional reinsurers to get support on specialized Marine Classes of Business.
  7. Determine the retention level in accordance with the Company's Underwriting and Treaty Guidelines.
  8. Ensure all referrals from Marketers, Agents, Brokers, and other Partners are attended to in a timely manner.
  9. Provide technical advice and support on underwriting matters to Marketers, Agents, Brokers, and other Partners.
  10. Embrace & provide Product, System, and Process knowledge.
  11. Provide technical training to identified key Sales colleagues.
  12. Ensure reinsurance placement is in order prior to risk inception.
  13. Perform Portfolio Management by analysing Marine Portfolio performance and taking respective action where necessary.
  14. Analyse Claims Frequency and Severity within the respective Portfolio to take the respective action where necessary
  15. Assist the immediate superior in performing any tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Graduate or Diploma in MII.
  2. Growth Mindset and the capability to actively drive and support Business Development
  3. High level of confidence to deal with Business Partners across all Distribution Channels
  4. Open-minded Team Player with strong communication skills to drive change.
