Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to support the Financial Controller in overseeing the company's financial reporting and compliance functions. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, proper project accounting, and adherence to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS and company policies.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Perform project-level accounting, including revenue and cost tracking, WIP schedules, and budget variance analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
  • Assist in the group consolidation process and intercompany reconciliation where applicable.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and statutory bodies (e.g., LHDN, SSM) during audits and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings (e.g., SST, WHT, income tax).
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and financial policies.
  • Support in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for management decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • ACCA-qualified or part-qualified preferred.
  • Member of MIA or eligible for membership.
