We're hiring a Video Editor / Animator in Kuala Lumpur to turn raw footage into platform-ready stories across energy, heavy industry, advanced tech, and space-adjacent missions.

About the Role

As a Video Editor / Animator at APD Global, you'll drive projects end-to-end, balancing creative, technical, and strategic inputs. You'll shape narrative from interviews, field footage, and technical material, applying motion design and selective animation to clarify ideas and keep viewers engaged.

You'll partner with marketing, brand, executives, and sponsorship teams to deliver launch films, product explainers, event openers, and ongoing series aligned to campaign goals. It's fast, collaborative, and impact-driven: we move quickly, publish often, and measure what works so the next cut performs even better.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Production & Production

  • Collaborate with marketing, brand, and executive teams to plan and conceptualise content.
  • Develop creative briefs, scripts, shot lists, storyboards, and production schedules.

Post-Production

  • Edit footage into high-quality stories using Premiere Pro (or Resolve / Final Cut Pro).
  • Elevate edits with motion graphics, titles, subtitles, music, and sound design.
  • Apply selective animation to explain complex ideas or amplify key moments.
  • Ensure brand consistency (look, tone, pacing) across all deliverables.
  • Handle colour correction and audio mixing; export to channel-specific specs.
  • Maintain organised project files and a clean digital asset workflow.

About You

  • A strong showreel/portfolio that demonstrates narrative range.
  • 3+ years in video editing with motion design/animation experience.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud—especially Premiere Pro and After Effects; bonus for DaVinci Resolve.
  • Excellent communication in English and Mandarin to engage talent and partners across the region.
  • Sharp eye for composition, colour, lighting, and sound; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Feedback-friendly, adaptable, and comfortable turning direction into action.
