Location & work model: Onsite in Kuala Lumpur
Role Overview: As a Software Engineering Intern for FC Mobile, you will be building games and/or associated tools using web technologies such as ReactJS, HTML, Canvas, JavaScript, and other similar tech. You will report directly to the Senior Software Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components and features, with flexibility to focus on your stronger area.
- Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React and modern front-end technologies.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other developers to design functionality and develop robust, quality code aligned with business and user requirements.
- Write clean, well-documented, and unit-tested code for both client and server-side applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using and related frameworks (e.g., Express, Koa, or NestJS) that support web and game features.
- Implement state management solutions and ensure optimal performance of React applications.
- Communicate with superiors promptly about project progress and risks.
Qualifications:
- Currently studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related degree. Passionate about making and playing games.
- Comfortable working across the full stack, though stronger expertise in either front-end or back-end is perfectly acceptable.
- Solid understanding of React, including hooks, component lifecycle, and modern patterns.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and for server-side development.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Understanding of front-end build tools and workflows (e.g., Webpack, Vite) is a plus.
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or Context API) is advantageous.
- Experience or familiarity with caching and message queue systems such as Redis or similar technologies is advantageous.
- Ability to think critically and tackle technical challenges proactively across the stack.
- Excellent proficiency in English and Chinese.
