About the role

As a Site Supervisor (Construction) at the Northern Fire Service, you will play a vital role in overseeing the successful delivery of construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the construction site and personnel, ensuring adherence to project plans, safety protocols, and quality standards. This contract position is based in Perai, Penang.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of tradespeople, subcontractors, and labourers on the construction site
  • Monitor progress and quality of work to ensure it meets project specifications and timelines
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on the construction site
  • Prepare site reports, progress updates and maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings and ensure workers follow site safety rules.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction processes and procedures
  • Attend meetings with clients, consultants and other stakeholders as required.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and application of HIRARC, risk assessment and site safety procedures.
  • Support project teams with presentations, reporting and coordination tasks.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
  • Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Proficient in using construction management software and tools
  • Able to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexible to work on-site and adapt to fast-changing project requirements.
  • Possession of a Yellow Book (Site Safety Supervisor Certificate) will be an added advantage
