Job Title: IT Project Manager – Core Banking & Release Management

Experience Required: 5–8 Years

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to manage technical delivery of 1P Core Banking systems and release management initiatives. The role involves end-to-end project execution, stakeholder coordination, vendor management, governance compliance, and delivery across multi-country and multi-vendor environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Manage end-to-end project implementation, including planning, execution, risk management, quality control, and go-live
  • Focus on technical deliverables related to 1P Core Banking and release management
  • Monitor and ensure project timelines, milestones, and budget are on track
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively and track delivery progress
  • Actively manage project risks and issues and drive timely resolution

Stakeholder, Vendor & Governance Management

  • Coordinate technical activities across internal departments and external vendors, including off-site development teams
  • Manage stakeholders throughout the project execution lifecycle
  • Coordinate review and sign-off of key deliverables (SOW, BRD, FSD, SIT, UAT, etc.)
  • Ensure adherence to GPLC governance (CIMB Group Project SDLC)
  • Ensure compliance with IT Security, audit, IT standards, and policies
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date project documentation

Reporting & Meetings

  • Prepare and present regular project progress reports to key stakeholders
  • Chair weekly Project Working Committee (PWC) meetings
  • Act as project secretariat for monthly Project Steering Committee (PSC) meetings
  • Provide risk, issue, and mitigation updates to senior stakeholders

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Senior Technical Project Managers and assume assigned responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong team leadership, coordination, and negotiation skills
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented project environment

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management
  • At least 4 years of experience in Banking IT projects
  • Experience completing at least one full SDLC cycle in a Project Management role
  • Experience managing concurrent projects across multiple countries
  • Experience working with vendors and off-site development teams
  • PMI certification – Added advantage
