Key responsibilities

Contract lifecycle management: Oversee the entire process of creating, reviewing, negotiating, and executing contracts with clients, vendors, and partners.

Risk assessment: Analyze contracts to identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure terms are fair and compliant with company policies and regulations.

Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms and conditions to secure the best value for the company, which can include terms related to pricing, deliverables, and service level agreements (SLAs).

Compliance and record-keeping: Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and internal policies, and maintain organized, secure records of all contractual documents.

Relationship management: Act as the main point of contact for contract-related issues, coordinating with both internal departments and external parties to ensure a thorough understanding of contractual terms.

Performance monitoring: Oversee the implementation of contracts to ensure they are performed efficiently and that suppliers and partners meet contractual obligations and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Skills and qualifications

Essential skills: Strong negotiation, time management, and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

Experience: Many contract managers progress from roles like Contract Specialist and may require a bachelor's degree in a related field like Business or Finance, though extensive experience can sometimes substitute.
