Customs Declaration Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit import/export declarations, permits, and other required documents to customs authorities.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements — including tariff codes, licenses, and other applicable laws.
  • Declare shipments under special schemes such as MIDA (Malaysian Investment Development Authority), SST (Sales and Service Tax), and FTA (Free Trade Agreement) as per regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal teams to facilitate timely shipment clearance.
  • Track the status of shipments and provide timely updates to relevant departments and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customs-related transactions and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the clearance process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 -3 years of relevannt expereince in customs declaration within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian customs regulations and experience handling decarations under MIDS, SST and FTA
  • Familiar with customs systms (eg Dagangnet) and import/export documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Willing to work in Bandar Botanik, Port Klang
