Job Summary

The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring projects are built according to design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. This role involves supervising workers, coordinating with contractors, resolving technical issues, and ensuring timely project completion. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in construction or civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

@ Construction Supervision & Quality Control

  • Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with architectural & engineering plans.

  • Inspect materials, workmanship, and structural integrity to meet quality standards.

  • Conduct site surveys, measurements, and tests (e.g., soil, concrete, compaction).

@ Technical Support & Problem-Solving

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for contractors and workers.

  • Resolve on-site technical issues and provide engineering solutions.

  • Liaise with architects, designers, and consultants to clarify design requirements.

@ Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce health and safety regulations (OSHA, local codes, company policies).

  • Conduct safety briefings and ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Report incidents, hazards, and non-compliance to management.

@ Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings.

  • Track material deliveries, equipment usage, and labor productivity.

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and project schedules.

@ Coordination & Communication

  • Supervise subcontractors, laborers, and technicians.

  • Coordinate with project managers, surveyors, and suppliers.

  • Attend site meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.

@ Qualifications & Skills

@ Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • 1-2+ years of experience in construction site supervision (internship experience may be considered).

@ Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other engineering design software.

  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

  • Familiarity with surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, levels).

@ Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Leadership and decision-making skills.

@ Work Conditions
