Overview:

The person will play a pivotal role in driving sustainability initiatives within the organization. His/her responsibilities will encompass working closely with Director and Vice President of Strategic Communications in various aspects of sustainability, including being the champion of Environmental, Social, and Governance ("ESG") principles, initiating and managing Corporate Social Responsibility ("CSR") programmes, as well as managing and monitoring
Wakalah
budget and programmes. The position requires strategic thinking, leadership, and project management skills which are essential to promote sustainable practices and create positive impact on the Company's stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1) ESG Champion:

  • Stay updated on ESG trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate ESG considerations into the company's operations.
  • Advocate for ESG principles within the organisation and promote a culture of responsible business practices.

2) CSR Program Initiation and Management:

  • Identify and assess CSR opportunities aligned with the company's mission and values.
  • Develop a CSR strategy and roadmap, including measurable goals and KPIs.
  • Establish partnerships with non-profit organisations and community stakeholders.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of CSR programmes.
  • Report on the impact of CSR initiatives and communicate achievements to stakeholders.

3) Wakalah Budget and Program Initiation, Management and Monitoring:

  • Develop and implement programme based on allocated
    Wakalah
    budget.
  • Monitor utilisation of
    Wakalah
    budget
    .
  • Prepare required report on the utilisation of
    Wakalah
    budget to Pusat Pungutan Zakat MAIWP.

4) Sustainability Reporting:

  • Prepare the annual sustainability reports that include ESG performance, CSR initiatives and
    Wakalah
    program updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather and verify data.
  • Ensure compliance with latest reporting standards by Bursa Malaysia; i.e. IFRS.

5) Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and feedback on sustainability efforts.
  • Foster relationships with industry organisations, government agencies, and other partners to advance sustainability goals.

6) Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess sustainability-related risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk and capitalise on opportunities.

7) Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage the budget allocated for sustainability initiatives.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to support ESG, CSR and
    Wakalah
    programmes.

8) Compliance and Regulation:

  • Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations related to sustainability and CSR.
  • Ensure the Company's compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (i.e. environmental science, sustainability, communications, or related discipline).
  • 4-5 years' experience in sustainability, environmental management, or corporate responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks.
  • Excellent project management, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
