What you'll do:

As Senior Manager, Sustainability based in Kuala Lumpur for an oil and gas company, you will be entrusted with driving forward the group's sustainability agenda by developing impactful policies that align with both local operations and global standards. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with subsidiaries to ensure consistent implementation of sustainability initiatives while managing complex data flows for accurate ESG reporting. You will play a central role in preparing high-quality disclosures for the holding parent company as well as external parties such as bondholders and lenders. By maintaining advanced data systems and engaging regularly with stakeholders-including auditors, rating agencies, investors, regulators-you will help foster transparency and trust in the company's sustainability performance. Your ability to stay informed about regulatory changes ensures ongoing compliance while your involvement in audits, training sessions, and special projects supports continuous improvement across all aspects of ESG management.

* Develop and enhance comprehensive ESG policies and strategies tailored for the group, ensuring alignment with core business objectives and international best practices.

* Coordinate with multiple subsidiaries and motivate cross-functional teams to implement effective sustainability initiatives throughout the organisation.

* Clearly communicate the significance of environmental preservation to diverse stakeholders, fostering understanding and support across departments.

* Collect, analyse, and report ESG data from various business units, maintaining accuracy and timeliness in all submissions.

* Prepare detailed ESG disclosures that adhere to ISSB, SASB, GRI, and TCFD standards for both internal reporting and external stakeholder requirements.

* Maintain robust ESG data systems and dashboards to ensure seamless tracking of sustainability metrics across the group.

* Engage proactively with internal teams, auditors, ESG rating agencies, lenders, investors, and regulators on all matters related to sustainability reporting.

* Monitor compliance with Scope I, II, and III emissions reporting obligations as well as adherence to IFC standards and Equator Principles.

* Stay abreast of evolving ESG regulatory developments and reporting obligations relevant to the oil and gas sector.

* Support ad hoc ESG initiatives such as strategy development, sustainability audits, assurance engagements, training sessions, and continuous improvement projects.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities are crucial for preparing reports and delivering presentations to varied audiences.

* Strong project management skills enable you to coordinate complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders efficiently.

* Experience liaising with auditors or external rating agencies adds significant value when responding to queries or preparing disclosures.

* Certifications in environmental management or sustainability (such as ISO are considered advantageous but not mandatory.
