Production & Material Control (PMC) Manager / Senior Manager

Job Responsibilities :-

1. Material Planning and Forecasting

  1.  Develop, implement, and manage material control plans to meet production demands.

  2.  Analyze production schedules and forecasts to ensure the availability of required materials.

  3.  Collaborate with sales, production, and supply chain teams to align material planning with business goals.

2. Inventory Management

  1.  Oversee inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking or understocking.

  2.  Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce overall costs.

  3.  Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and policies.

3. Warehouse and Logistics Oversight

  1.  Super material handling, storage, and movement to support production workflows.

  2.  Ensure proper maintenance of inventory control systems and physical inventory checks.

  3.  Liaise with logistics teams to ensure efficient transportation of raw materials.

4. Process Optimization

  1.  Identify areas for improvement in material control processes and implement cost-saving measures.

  2.  Lead initiatives to optimize production scheduling and reduce material waste.

  3.  Introduce and oversee automation or software tools to improve material planning and tracking.

5. Team Leadership and Training

  1.  Provide leadership and guidance to the material control and procurement team.

  2.  Recruit, train, and develop team members to improve their skills and competencies.

  3.  Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

6. Reporting and Analysis

  1.  Create and maintain accurate reports on inventory levels, material usage, and supply chain KPIs.

  2.  Analyze material usage trends and recommend adjustments based on data insights.

  3.  Report to senior management on supply chain performance and risks.

7. Budgeting and Cost Control

  1.  Develop and manage the budget for material procurement and control.

  2.  Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate contracts with suppliers.

  3.  Ensure that material expenses align with organizational financial goals.

8. Compliance and Risk Management

  1.  Ensure all material control activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  2.  Address potential risks in material availability or quality to prevent disruptions in production.

  3.  Maintain and monitor safety standards in material handling and storage.

9. Collaboration and Communication

  1.  Act as the liaison between production, logistics, procurement, and other related departments.

  2.  Communicate material requirements, delays, or concerns effectively with internal teams and suppliers.

Job Requirements :-

  1. Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
  2. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu. Mandarin speaker is an added advantage.
  3. At least 8 years of experience in production planning, warehouse operations or related field is an advantage.
  4. Strong communication and coordination skills.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  6. Willing to work in Port Klang, Selangor.
