Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead and coach our Agile teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Scrum/SAFe frameworks, strong leadership skills, and a passion for enabling high-performing teams. The Scrum Master will ensure effective implementation of Agile practices, support team collaboration, identify delivery bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across projects. In addition, this role requires expertise in OpenProject administration and the ability to develop custom reporting tools or scripts to enhance tracking of delivery health and team performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a servant-leader and coach for Agile teams, enabling self-organization and sustainable high performance.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Partner with Product Owners to facilitate backlog refinement and ensure the team has clarity on priorities (without taking ownership of requirements).
  • Identify and analyze delivery choke points and work with teams to resolve impediments.
  • Track workload balance across team members and facilitate equitable distribution to maintain delivery pace.
  • Monitor team performance metrics (velocity, throughput, quality indicators) and highlight risks or performance concerns for coaching or escalation.
  • Support technical leads in addressing performance challenges that may impact Sprint outcomes.
  • Configure and administer OpenProject for Agile project management, ensuring dashboards and workflows are tailored to team needs.
  • Design, build, and maintain custom tools, scripts, or reports (e.g., workload trackers, KPI dashboards) to provide visibility into team performance and delivery health.
  • Generate and maintain KPIs to track team performance, delivery health, and progress toward goals.
  • Communicate team progress, risks, and issues effectively to management and stakeholders.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
  • Minimum 10 years of overall industry experience, with at least 6 years as a Scrum Master in Agile/SAFe environments.
  • Deep understanding of Scrum, Agile principles, and SAFe best practices.
  • Proven experience coaching teams to high performance in complex delivery environments.
  • Strong background in risk management, workload balancing, and performance tracking.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenProject administration or similar Agile project management tools (Jira, ADO, etc.).
  • Ability to develop custom reporting solutions using APIs, scripts, or lightweight automation.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to bridge between Development teams and Product Owners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify delivery bottlenecks and process inefficiencies.
  • Ability to monitor team health, identify underperformance, and partner with leadership to resolve challenges.
  • Technical aptitude to design or configure custom dashboards and tools for workload and KPI tracking.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Skilled in fostering collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Preferred
  • Experience working with data science or highly technical teams.
  • Exposure to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting or lightweight development (e.g., Python, SQL, APIs, or integrations with OpenProject).
