Warehouse Operator

THE NO-NONSENSE SUMMARY: This position is intended for serious, hard-working professionals who are looking to be part of a multinational growth organization. Reporting to the Logistics Specialist. Your responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, including processing inbound shipments, conducting physical quality control checks, generating Non-Conformity Reports, collaborating with the Quality department, and assisting with outbound procedures such as picking, packing, booking outbound orders, reorganizing warehouse inventory, and placing processed stock into inventory. ROLE MISSION

To serve our suppliers and end customers by ensuring correct, safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehoused products.

DESIRED OUTCOMES

• Achieve a 99% accuracy rate in the receiving process by carefully inspecting and documenting incoming shipments, reducing errors and discrepancies in inventory and deliveries.
• Set up and regularly revise the guidelines, procedures for placing incoming shipments into inventory and for picking, packing and shipping outbound orders.
• Consistently align and develop the current warehouse operations with the established backend system.

• Demonstrate a proactive approach in enhancing inbound procedures, with a willingness to explore potential improvements in warehousing practices as well.
• Consistently meet recurring deadlines while effectively prioritizing the completion of shipments as necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

THE ROLEYes, you read that right – we're looking for a ROCKSTAR.  The title may sound a little wacky, but it's really quite true.  We're looking for that special someone that has not one, but two unique skills – amazing attention-to-detail-get-it done mentality and stress tolerance.

As a fast-growing multinational, I'm not ashamed to admit we're starting to come apart at the seams.  Our products and services have found a sweet spot in the market, and now we're struggling to maintain the high level of efficient warehouse operations that we want to give to our customers.

So, what will you be doing?The position and responsibility will grow along with you.  As a small, but growing company, the role will be exciting for you if you like working in a small team and having a lot of freedom to define your roles and responsibilities.  No two days will likely be the same.

Broadly speaking, we currently have two major areas that have been identified by the warehouse as priorities for the coming fiscal year.

1. Inbound Operations Management  (about 50% of your time)

In our business, we have incoming shipments which will be delivered to the warehouse during various hours in a day by various carriers. We receive parcels/pallets/containers and the candidate is expected to process the inbound by maintaining the deadlines.

Examples of activities:

• Check incoming shipments, verifying against delivery notes and packing slips.
• Process inbound inventory in the backend system, including label printing, lot number allocation, and location assignment.
• Ensure all inbound items are correctly matched with documentation and stored as per company standards.
• Gradually assume responsibility for preparing all necessary documentation for the relevant processes following comprehensive training.

2. Warehouse Support (about 50% of your time)

In our business, we handle incoming shipments arriving throughout the day from various carriers, alongside outbound shipments that need to be picked, packed, and dispatched efficiently. The role involves processing inbound inventory while ensuring outbound operations run smoothly. Additionally, the position requires coordination with the outbound team to ensure accurate and timely documentation preparation.

Examples of activities:

• Assist with the picking of outbound orders during daytime, when required.
• Participate in warehouse reorganization and maintenance activities to optimize space utilization.
• Support outbound activities, including the accurate preparation of shipments and documentation when needed.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

What mindset do you require?Skills can be learned. Mindsets, though they can be learned too, are more often a part of who you are.  We value the mindset at least if not more than either experience or hard skills.

1. Curiosity – We want a person who is curious, and rarely satisfied with the first answer.  If you find something that doesn't agree with what you already think, then we want someone who wants to know why.

What skills do you NOT need?Before we list the skills you do need, it is important that you know what skills or experience we do NOT require:

1. Product knowledge: You do not need to know anything about any of the products we sell, or any of the services we provide.  All will be taught on the job.
2. Lots of work experience: This is meant to be an entry-level position where you will learn "knowledge" on the job.  What we can't teach – and value enormously is someone who is organized, analytical, curious, dedicated, and shows a high level of "stick-to-it-ness".  There's always a better way, how do we get to it?

What skills do you require?

We don't even have any hard skills that are required.  The ideal candidate would be one who:

• Asks questions, then asks more questions, then asks even more questions
• Is very organized, and likes to have a place for everything and everything in its place
• Is very computer literate and very familiar with Google Workspace
• Is a Google power-user, forever asking Google questions for answers he/she doesn't know
• Very good spoken and written English (at least 7/10)
• Is optimistic, energetic and loves a good challenge
• Pay attention to detail.  The very last paragraph of this job vacancy has very important information.  Be sure you read it twice before applying.

Desired Skills (big plus if you have them)

1. Valid forklift license and safe operating practices.
2. Experience handling cooled / temperature-controlled orders (e.g., cold-chain, dry-ice packaging, using temperature loggers, PPE, and SOP compliance).
3. Prior warehouse operations experience (receiving, put-away, picking, packing).
