We're supporting a financial services group in its next phase of growth: establishing a regulated trust and custody platform in Hong Kong.

This is a rare opportunity for a junior lawyer to relocate to Hong Kong and join a founding team that sits at the intersection of regulatory strategy, trust law, and digital finance infrastructure.

The role offers hands-on exposure to cross-border structuring and licensing, with support and mentorship from senior partners across APAC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in navigating
    Hong Kong's trust and regulatory frameworks
    , including Trust Ordinance, TCSP, and licensing regimes.
  • Draft, review, and interpret legal documents, working closely with external counsel when required.
  • Support compliance structuring and internal policy design alongside business and operations teams.
  • Monitor regulatory developments across jurisdictions (HK, SG, EU), and help translate into actionable internal strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on product rollout and licensing timelines for the trust/custody platform.

Key Requirements

  • 1–4 years PQE
    , Malaysia-qualified (admitted to the Bar).
  • Training in top law firms or regulatory-focused in-house roles preferred.
  • Strong commercial mindset, excellent drafting skills, and a willingness to learn unfamiliar jurisdictions.
  • Fluent Cantonese
    is essential, alongside English and/or Mandarin.
  • Motivated to
    relocate to Hong Kong
    and build long-term value in a lean, strategic team.
