Job Purpose:

The
Red Hat Linux Administrator Corporate Trainee
program is designed to provide hands-on experience and structured development for individuals with foundational knowledge of Linux and a keen interest in mastering
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
operations. This role focuses exclusively on
operating system tasks
and
supports activities
within Linux environments, offering opportunities for professional growth in system administration and troubleshooting.

RedHat Linux Administrator Corporate Trainee Support

1. Red Hat Linux Systems Support:

2. Learn and assist in performing basic system administration tasks within Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.

3. Support maintenance, patching, and updates for RHEL systems to ensure stability and security.

4. Monitor system performance and logs (e.g., journalctl, top, dmesg) to identify and troubleshoot issues.

5. User & Access Management:

6. Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and groups.

7. Help configure authentication methods and secure access controls.

8. Filesystem and Storage Management:

9. Work with file systems to perform basic tasks like mounting, resizing, and monitoring disks and partitions.

10. Support storage management using tools like LVM and basic disk configuration tasks.

11. Networking in Linux:

12. Assist in managing network configurations using nmcli or manual configuration files.

13. Basic troubleshooting of network connectivity issues within Linux environments (e.g., ping, netstat).

14. System Troubleshooting:

15. Participate in diagnosing and resolving issues with services and processes using tools like ps, journalctl, systemctl, and debugging logs.

16. Collaborate with senior administrators for root cause analysis during system failures.

17. Shell Scripting Support:

18. Learn shell scripting (bash) to automate repetitive tasks under supervision.

19. Write, test, and document basic scripts for system maintenance.

20. Adherence to Standards:

21. Follow company policies, security protocols, and operating procedures for Linux environments.

22. Learn and apply best practices for system security in RHEL environments.

ADDITIONAL TASKS:

• Perform other Linux-related tasks as assigned by senior administrators or the team head.
• Assist in team meetings and document progress of Linux administration tasks.

Formal Education:

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science.

Skills Requirement:

• Preferably Entry Level specialized in Information Technology or equivalent.
• No work experience required.
• Minimum CGPA is 3.0 pointer.
• Strong team player with strong interpersonal and communicative skills.
• Required language(s): Fluent verbal and written in English required.
• Required Skill(s): IT skills that are closely matching to Database, Linux, and Microsoft product

Additional:

• Proficient in RedHat/CentOS Opensource products.
• Experience and knowledge of RHEL support activities at least at project level
• Familiarity with Unix environment and commands.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within a corporate setting.
• NOTE
  : Successful candidates will be employed on a
  6-months contract
  directly under Commerz Global Service Solutions Sdn Bhd.
  Upon completion of the Corporate Trainee Program, permanent employment will be offered
  based on the overall performance evaluation throughout the program.
