Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Petaling Jaya for a Security Engineer. The Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure systems to protect organizational data and infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting security assessments, monitoring networks for potential vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and implementing best practices for threat prevention. The role also involves collaborating with teams to ensure compliance with security protocols and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Network Security, Firewalls, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
  • Proficiency in Vulnerability Assessment, Risk Management, and Security Incident Response
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and techniques
  • Understanding of Cryptography, Encryption Standards, and Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Strong awareness of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and other relevant frameworks
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are an added advantage
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools is a plus
