The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Corporate Finance specialist in the local market to join our expanding Corporate Finance department under our Islamic Banking entity, Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad, as we embark on our Acceler8 journey to rebuild and strengthen our capital market capabilities. The successful candidate will join the department as Senior Executive/Manager or Assistant Vice President level depending on experiences and exposures.
Some overview of the role would be:-
- To prepare application to the regulators to obtain their approval for corporate exercises
- To assist in providing advisory services to clients in relation to on various corporate exercises such as Initial Public Offering (IPO), Merger & Acquisition (M&A), debt restructuring, fund raising and valuation
Key Responsibilities
Business Development Support
- To assist in the coordination and implementation of corporate exercises on a timely basis
- Assist in overseeing timely billings and collection of fees
- Assist in ensuring proposals are reasonable and consistent with market-based principles and meet with regulatory requirements
Compliance and Risk Management
- No reprimand from authorities for jobs handled by Corporate Finance
- To draft submissions / circulars / announcements in compliance with regulatory standards
- To draft proposals which are consistent with market-based principles and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assist in reviewing from time to time the sufficiency of due diligence procedures for Corporate Finance to be in line with latest regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with the relevant provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001 and the relevant requirements under the ABG Policy on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Policy and AIS Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Procedural Manual, in order to prevent AIS from becoming a conduit for money-laundering and financing to terrorism activities.
Service Quality
- Assist in the execution of assigned mandates within reasonable predetermined time lines
- To attend regular team meetings on specific jobs to report progress of transactions assigned to the team and to minimize possibility of client dissatisfaction
- Assist in maintaining regular contact with clients to ensure clients' need and objectives are met
- Assist in the review of proposals for consistency with market-based principles and compliance with regulatory requirements, to minimize possibility of rejection of transaction by authorities and/or shareholders
Requirements
Skills
- Strong inter-personal skills for negotiation and presentation to clients
- Strong analytical skills for problem solving and providing solutions to clients
- Strong planning and co-ordination skills
- Good command of written and spoken English language
Knowledge
- Sound knowledge in Bursa Securities' Listing Requirements, Securities Commission's Guidelines, Islamic Capital Markets & Services Act, Companies Act, accounting treatments and Corporate Finance activities
- Able to structure products
Experience
- Overall working experience of minimum 5 years, with at least 2 to 4 years experience in corporate advisory dealing with IPOs, M&A, Fund Raising, Restructuring, etc.
- Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
Qualification
- Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business / Economics / Law or equivalent professional qualifications (i.e. ACCA, CA, CPA, CFA, etc)
