About the role

Join the dynamic team at LISTEN UP SDN. BHD. as our R&D Specialist. This full-time position is based in Kuala Lumpur and will play a key role in driving innovation and excellence in our food technology and safety operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Product Innovation – Improve existing products and develop new products according to the Company's branding & growth strategies and market positioning, using criterial such as nutrition profile, taste & texture, costing, process effectiveness and shelf-life.
  • Product Quality Control – Work closely with OEM partner to ensure that goods produce is of the highest standard & quality as per aligned.
  • Product Certification & Export – Work with stakeholders such as ingredient suppliers, industry & regulatory bodies to ensure that company products receive the relevant certification as determined by the relevant import countries. Provide knowledge transfer of plant-based products with local team.
  • Market Research & Product Ideation – Research and closely monitor market trends and competitors to identify new product opportunities, create businesses cases and process to commercialization
  • Ensure compliance with relevant food safety regulations and quality standards
  • To monitor trial run and commercial run quality check and food safety with OEM QA.
  • Audit OEM partners ensuring their daily practices comply to our QA / QC, hygiene and sanitation standard.
  • Understand the product & nutrition knowledge and able to provide technical support to the local production team.
  • To gather, update and maintain all ingredients specifications to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Responsible in carrying out investigation and liaise with Sales & Marketing on the response for trade complaint, consumer complaints / inquiries, maintaining customers' satisfaction level.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in food science, food technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in research and development within the food industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems
  • Creativity and a passion for innovation in food technology
