Why this role matters

You will shape the bank‑wide Data & Analytics (D&A) strategy and operating model, embedding trusted, AI‑ready data across the organisation. You'll partner with the Shariah Committee, Risk, Compliance and the C‑suite to drive outcomes that balance innovation, prudence and customer trust.

What you'll do
  • Set and evolve the D&A and AI strategy tuned for Islamic banking—linking vision to measurable outcomes while aligning with Shariah governance expectations.
  • Establish a scalable operating model for data, analytics and AI (ecosystem, architecture, delivery) that works end‑to‑end—from data ingestion to value realisation.
  • Build an AI‑ready data foundation with strong stewardship—prioritising trust, security, lineage, and ethical AI aligned to Islamic finance principles.
  • Lead a bank‑wide data management/data engineering capability delivering certified, reusable data products for risk, finance, retail, wholesale and compliance needs.
  • Drive consistent delivery of data, analytics and AI products (including model lifecycle, standards and controls) for growth, risk insight and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Technology leadership to evolve D&A platform capabilities in line with enterprise IT strategy, controls and resilience requirements.
  • Lead data commercialisation and emerging tech to unlock new value pools while maintaining Shariah compliance and customer protection.
  • Build a high‑performing D&A Center of Excellence—uplifting data literacy, developing talent, and role‑modelling a data‑driven culture.
  • Champion data ethics, governance and assurance—strengthening quality, auditability and regulatory readiness across reporting and disclosures.

  • Enterprise D&A strategy adopted, with the operating model embedded across priority domains.
  • Trusted, AI‑ready data products in production with clear, measured business value.
  • Audit‑ready data governance, uplifted data quality and stronger reporting confidence.
  • A platform roadmap delivering scalable, cost‑effective D&A capabilities.
What you'll bring
  • 10–15 years' senior leadership, ideally at EVP/SVP level, across data, tech or business in complex, regulated environments.
  • Proven success leading enterprise‑wide data and analytics programs and operating models.
  • Depth in data strategy, governance, and value realisation; fluency working with board/C‑suite.
  • Banking domain strength across operations, products and policy/compliance, with sensitivity to Shariah governance.
  • Executive‑level storytelling and influence to align diverse stakeholders.
