About you:

We are looking for Data Scientists to join our expanding international team. We're hiring across a range of positions from junior to senior, offering exciting opportunities to tackle complex technical problems as part of the newly formed Data Excellence team within the Chief Revenue Office.

Senior Data Scientist

  • You are an experienced Data Scientist with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in commercial environments.
  • You can work independently on complex projects while providing technical leadership and strategic direction.
  • You have experience mentoring junior team members and can guide their professional development.
  • You are skilled at translating complex business requirements into technical solutions and can communicate insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • You have deep expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies.
  • You take ownership of project outcomes and can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Junior Data Scientist

  • You are an enthusiastic early-career Data Scientist with a keen focus on delivering value and eager to grow your skillset.
  • You are passionate about data and the ever-evolving technology used to leverage it.
  • You value collaborative learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • You are keen to communicate directly with business colleagues to understand their problems and contribute to innovative technical solutions.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Deliver Complex Projects: Design and implement sophisticated technical solutions to complex business problems across our diverse data estate using advanced data science techniques, statistical modelling, and AI/ML approaches.
  • Mentorship & Development: Coach more junior team members, conduct code reviews, and support their skill development in both technical and business domains.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into business insights.
  • Skill Building: Actively develop your data science skillset including technical capabilities, stakeholder management, and project management.
  • Business Understanding: Build comprehensive knowledge of The Access Group's products, business processes, and strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Spend time with business stakeholders, learning to form effective relationships and becoming a trusted analytical partner.
  • Collaborative Learning: Participate in team knowledge sharing, peer programming, and continuous learning initiatives.
  • Quality Delivery: Ensure analytical solutions are robust, well-documented, and deliver clear business value.
  • Stay current with emerging tools, techniques, and industry best practices in data science and AI.

Your Knowledge and Skills will include:

Required for Senior Level:

  • Advanced Python expertise with deep knowledge of data science libraries and frameworks (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, etc.).
  • Expert SQL skills for complex data extraction, transformation, and analysis across large datasets.
  • Extensive AI/ML experience including model development, deployment, and monitoring in production environments.
  • Statistical expertise with strong foundation in experimental design, hypothesis testing, and advanced statistical methods.
  • Big data experience with tools like PySpark, Databricks, or similar distributed computing platforms.
  • Project leadership skills including project planning, stakeholder management, and team coordination.
  • Business acumen with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate insights to executive audiences.

Required for Junior Level:

  • Solid Python skills with experience using core data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, etc.).
  • Good SQL skills for data extraction and basic data manipulation.
  • Foundational AI experience including familiarity with machine learning concepts and basic model development.
  • Statistical knowledge covering descriptive statistics, basic inferential statistics, and data visualization.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Learning mindset with demonstrated drive to develop and grow both technical and business skills.

Nice to Have (Both Levels):

  • Experience using PySpark on Databricks or similar big data platforms.
  • Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data/AI services.
  • Experience with MLOps practices and model deployment pipelines.
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy, and ethical AI practices.
