About the role

Mewah Group is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager, Shipping to join their team based in Pulau Indah, Selangor, Malaysia. This full-time role will be responsible for providing strategic support and expertise within the company's import and export operations and customs processes.

What you'll be doing

  1. Overseeing day-to-day shipping, logistics and customs clearance activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods
  2. Liaising with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities to coordinate shipments and navigate regulatory requirements
  3. Analysing shipping data and generating reports to optimise logistics and identify areas for improvement
  4. Providing guidance and training to the shipping team to enhance their skills and knowledge
  5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any shipping-related issues
  6. Ensuring compliance with all relevant import/export regulations, policies and procedures

What we're looking for

  1. 8+ years of experience in a similar shipping/logistics role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
  2. Strong understanding of import/export processes, customs clearance, and supply chain management
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise shipping operations
  4. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with external stakeholders
  5. Proficient in using shipping/logistics software and Microsoft Office applications
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
