Our client is an IPP looking for a Senior Asset Manager/ Manager to join the organisation for a regional role based in KL.

The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years of experience with gas fired and/ or coal fired power plants, O&M experience.

Asset Management & Optimization:


• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of power plant and renewable energy assets


• Ensuring optimal plant performance, and maximizing generation output while adhering to regulatory standards.


• Monitoring and analysing plant performance data to identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reliability.


• Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with asset performance, safety, and market conditions.


• Conducting financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, as well as evaluating investment opportunities.


• Assist in technical due diligence if there are any new projects in development and/or merger & acquisition exercise including contract negotiations.


• Setup O&M team for new projects.


• Managing contracts with various stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies such as PPA, GSA, LTSA, etc


• Collaborating with internal teams ( such as operations, maintenance, engineering)


• Collaborating with external stakeholders (such as investors, regulators, community)


• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, permits, and environmental standards.


• Overseeing maintenance schedules, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring that maintenance procedures are followed.


• Providing technical guidance and support for plant operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.


• Review asset management policy and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance, reduce costs, and improve safety.

Skills and Qualifications:


• Detailed understanding of power generation technologies, electrical systems, and plant operations.


• Minimum 7 years of power plant operations & maintenance industry experience


• Renewable energy is advantageous


• Ability to analyze financial data, develop budgets, and manage costs.


• Experience in negotiating and managing contracts.


• Ability to identify and mitigate risks.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders.


• Ability to analyse problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.


• Ability to plan, organize, and manage projects effectively.

Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree preferably in electrical, chemical or mechanical.


• Willing to travel to operating assets in South East Asia.
