Job Description

HELP International School is seeking an Internal Building Maintenance Technician specializing in interior painting, touch-up works, varnishing, and building appearance maintenance.

The role focuses on keeping the school's indoor environment clean, fresh, and visually appealing, including corridors, foyers, classrooms, pillars, handrails, doors, and wooden furniture.

Candidates with basic repair skills are highly preferred.


Responsibilities

Painting & Surface Finishing

  • Perform interior painting of corridors, foyers, classrooms, pillars, hallways and doors
  • Conduct wall touch-ups, patching, puttying, plastering and surface preparation
  • Ensure high-quality finishing on walls, trims, railings and indoor structures
  • Maintain painting tools, brushes, rollers and materials

Woodwork & Varnishing

  • Varnish and restore wooden furniture, cabinets, fixtures and classroom items
  • Repair minor scratches, faded varnish and wooden surface imperfections

Building Outlook & Aesthetic Upkeep

  • Inspect interior areas to identify repainting or touch-up needs
  • Maintain building appearance and cleanliness of interior spaces
  • Assist with signage touch-ups and repainting of interior fixtures

Basic Repair Work (Added Advantage)

  • Minor repairs to doors, hinges, handles, locks and fittings
  • Small carpentry fixes, wall patching, screw/bolt replacement
  • Assist with simple preventive maintenance tasks

Facilities Support

  • Support classroom setups, logistics and school event preparations
  • Assist Facilities Manager in scheduled repainting and improvement works

Requirements

  • SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Building Maintenance, Painting/Decorating, Carpentry or related field
  • 1–3 years experience in interior painting, surface finishing, varnishing or general building maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and finishing quality
  • Basic repair skills preferred (carpentry, patching, minor fixture repairs)
  • Able to perform physical work such as sanding, lifting, repainting
  • Responsible, reliable and able to work independently
  • Willing to support weekend or event duties when required
