Responsibilities and Duties

  • Management of Indonesia business units.
  • Responsible for taking control of sales and all related department's actions like setting goals and targets, developing strategies, assessing the performance of the sales team, and aligning sales goals with the company's profitability goals.
  • Design, strategize, and implement comprehensive sales & trade marketing plans to grow company's brands in collaboration with key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Develop, implement, and assess all department's effectiveness within the Indonesia business unit, identify errors, and make suitable changes in strategies to reach the targets and goals further, leading to overall profitability, sales, revenue generation, optimizing bottom line expenses and achieving business targets.
  • Align the sales organization's objectives with firm business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
  • Lead in partnership with various Sales & Marketing and backend supporting sections in Indonesia to drive the team and deliver high performance.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
  • Through active, productive partnerships with Human Resources and Learning and Development functions, incumbent establishes learning and development objectives essential to the sales organization's success, oversees the effective delivery of training and development programs, actively assesses the value of training and development investments, and monitors learning and development outcomes to ensure high ROI.
  • Establishes and governs the Indonesia business unit's performance management system. This includes establishing guiding organizational principles for managing performance, establishing, and prioritizing critical performance measures for all sales and other backend supporting jobs.
  • Overseeing across all sales channels, markets, and personnel; and ensuring all key sales, sales management associates and all backend supporting functions are held accountable for assigned results.
  • Analyse business tactics, sales strategies, performance analysis of the sales teams, competitor analysis, and market research.
  • Responsible for setting sales targets, determining sales initiatives' effectiveness, and understanding the need for change. Setting analytical functions to monitor and forecast sales performance. Present analysis reports, presentations, and recommended strategy based on the analysis to the stakeholders. Represent the business communication between the departments and the stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Etc)

  • Bachelors' Degree in Sales / Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience in a commercial function, at similar/higher capacity preferably to have successfully led a team in developing and curating sales & trade marketing strategies on a regional level at similar capacity of Head of Sales / Head of Commercial / Sales Director / Commercial Director / Head of Trade Marketing & Distribution / Country Manager /General Manager etc. within the industry.
  • Preferred to have industry (tobacco) working experience in well-known tobacco established companies.
  • The candidate will also have proven and successful relationship building skills, having an ability to leverage partnerships across the business as well as externally.
  • Strong ability in making data-driven decisions and comfortable in working with ROI and metric- driven models.
  • Possess superior communication skills and confident in communicating to stakeholders and related cross functional partners from differing background.
  • Proficient in Ms Word, PowerPoint, and Ms Excel for presentations and reports.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with strong entrepreneurial spirit. Creative and strategic thinker and yet detail-oriented in execution of plans.
  • Able to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner, be self-motivated and proactive, and display composure and calmness under stress and uncertainty while inspiring the same in others.
  • Possess exceptional leadership skills, being able to move and inspire a cross-functional group, leading it into a unified direction and with a common vision.
  • Manages the teams effectively by aligning the team's performance with the organization's sales goals. In considering capabilities of cross-functional collaboration and projects etc.
  • Entrepreneurial - Ability to grow at a fast pace in the current market with strong business senses, creativity and innovative.
  • Change agent - Develop innovative strategies and lead change within the dynamic environment.
  • Problem-solving ability – Ability to identify internal and external challenges resulting hindrance in sales opportunities and solve them critically.

  • Good team-work skills actively involve colleagues across the business, builds the benefits of collaborative working.
  • Able to organize work in a systematic manner, responsible attitude, honesty in the implementation of assigned tasks, reliable and committed in undertaking assigned tasks
  • Able to work under time pressure and to withstand stress.
  • Frequent Work Travels as and when required.
