About the role

Exciting opportunity for a Senior Purchasing Executive to join the growing team at SKINLAB BIOCHEM RESOURCES (M) SDN. BHD. in Johor Bahru, Johor. This full-time role will play a key part in overseeing the procurement and inventory management functions for the company.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, from sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to placing and tracking orders
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective delivery of goods and materials
  3. Analyse purchase requisitions, forecast demand, and identify opportunities to optimise inventory levels
  4. Implement and oversee inventory control systems to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise wastage
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align purchasing activities with production and operational needs
  6. Report on purchasing and inventory performance metrics to support data-driven decision making
  7. Stay up-to-date with market trends, supplier developments, and industry best practices

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role, preferably within the manufacturing or logistics industry
  2. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with a proven track record of securing favourable contract terms
  3. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex purchasing and inventory challenges
  4. Proficient in the use of procurement and inventory management software and systems
  5. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with various stakeholders
  6. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for process improvements
  7. Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline
