POSITION DESCRIPTION

In this strategic role, you will have the opportunity to manage indirect categories for a leading global medical device organization, contributing to meaningful outcomes by ensuring that cost savings are reinvested into technologies that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend lives for millions of patients worldwide.

You will be a key member of a center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team, reporting to the Sr. Sourcing Manager of Global Capital. This global, project-based role allows you to collaborate with stakeholders across functions, regions, and business units to drive value. You will be assigned specific manufacturing sites and have direct responsibility for identifying, initiating, and executing improvement projects that reduce spending and generate value within the Capital category. You'll also partner with category management teams to implement enterprise-wide procurement strategies and provide critical input to shape future direction.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieve year-on-year value improvements across quality, service, innovation, and cost
• Identify and recommend solutions to business problems, spot opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to leadership
• Establish and support a culture of continuous improvement, seeking efficiency, automation, and innovation
• Partner closely with center-led category managers to understand and implement enterprise-wide strategies
• Represent network and site-specific requirements with the category management organization
• Collaborate with key support functions (e.g., legal, finance, quality/compliance) to align on supply management objectives
• Ensure manufacturing sites receive consistent support, including stakeholder engagement, site-level diagnostics, workshops to identify savings, and supplier quality/supply continuity oversight
• Serve as a communication link between manufacturing facilities and suppliers
• Build strong supplier relationships and serve as the primary contact for issue resolution
• Lead supplier negotiations and implement strategy changes as needed
• Develop robust data gathering and maintenance protocols to ensure spend transparency and establish a baseline for sourcing cost reduction
• Conduct internal and external benchmarks and gap analyses; define required actions to achieve functional advantage
• Emphasize risk mitigation and ensure execution of procedures that protect supply and operational stability

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent
• Relevant experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain, or advanced degree with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLSET REQUIRED

• Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Demonstrated leadership, customer service, problem solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Strategy development and execution aligned with Strategic Sourcing methodology
• Experience in FDA-regulated industries
