Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Operations & Compliance

  • Operate, maintain, and supervise 33kV electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, substations) safely and in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations.
  • Act as the Chargeman BO person-in-charge for HV installations.
  • Conduct system switching, isolation, testing, and restoration activities.
  • Maintain statutory compliance records, inspection logs, and safety documentation.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for:
  • HV/LV systems
  • Transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS
  • Power distribution networks
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and coordinate emergency response for power failures.
  • Lead implementation of energy efficiency initiatives.

Project & Contractor Management

  • Support facilities projects including electrical upgrades, expansions, and new installations.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure adherence to safety and technical standards.
  • Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and method statements.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Enforce strict adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO), risk assessments, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety audits, and permit-to-work supervision.
  • Investigate incidents and ensure corrective/preventive actions.

Facilities Support

  • Support maintenance of overall facilities infrastructure including:
  • HVAC
  • Compressed air systems
  • DI/RO water systems
  • Fire protection and alarm systems
  • Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime impact.

RequirementsMandatory

  • Certified Chargeman BO (33kV) – valid ST certificate
  • Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5–10 years experience in industrial facilities / manufacturing, including HV operations
  • Proven hands-on experience in operating substation & power distribution systems
  • Strong knowledge of ST regulations, OSHA, and electrical safety standards

Preferred

  • Experience in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing environments
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience
  • Knowledge in energy management systems
  • Able to read and analyze electrical schematics and SLD diagrams
