FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE PURPOSE

The role of an Accountant is to support the finance department in managing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring smooth financial operations. The accountant will be responsible for handling bookkeeping, data entry, reconciliation, cash flow tracking, and supporting financial reporting in accordance with company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations including data entry, invoicing, receipts, payments, and bookkeeping.

  2. Maintain accurate financial records using accounting systems such as UBS/SQL/AutoCount and spreadsheets such as Google Sheets.

  3. Prepare and update cash flow reports, tracking inflows and outflows to ensure financial stability.

  4. Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciliation of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

  5. Helps prepare financial documents such as invoices, statements, reports, and supporting documents for audit purposes.

  6. Support the CFO in generating financial summaries and management reports.

  7. Ensure all financial documents are properly filed, organized, and easily retrievable.

  8. Assist in verifying transactions and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of accounting tasks.

  9. Communicate with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Marketing, Human Resource) for clarification on transactions or supporting documents.

  10. Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by management.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

  1. Accurate, timely, and error-free financial data entry and record management.

  2. Proper maintenance of cash flow tracking, helping management make informed decisions.

  3. Smooth and punctual month-end closing with minimal errors.

  4. High level of organization, ensuring all documents and records are complete and easily accessible.

  5. Effective support to the CFO in reporting and financial operations.

  6. Strong collaboration with other departments to resolve transaction issues quickly and professionally.

  7. Ability to learn and adapt quickly to accounting systems and workflow updates.

MAJOR CHALLENGES

  1. Managing multiple accounting tasks with tight deadlines.

  2. Ensuring data accuracy while handling repetitive or high-volume entries.

  3. Learning and adapting to new accounting systems and internal processes.

  4. Ensuring proper documentation for all transactions to avoid discrepancies.

  5. Keeping up with constant updates in financial procedures and company requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  1. Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration or any related field.

  2. One year working experience.

  3. Basic knowledge of accounting software such as UBS, SQL, AutoCount, or equivalent.

  4. Proficient in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and basic financial calculations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2, RM2,500.00 per month
