MEP BIM Modeller/Engineer with Asset Data Experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
MEP BIM Modeller/Engineer
with
experience in Asset Data
to collect, interpret, and organize asset information such as HVAC systems, lighting, and structural components from diverse sources including BIM models, as-built drawings, manufacturer documentation, installation records, commissioning data, and warranty details. The goal is to deliver accurate and comprehensive
Asset Registers
that support operational and maintenance needs.

This is a delivery-focused role emphasizing
technical document interpretation, data accuracy, and consistent asset data extraction
for infrastructure and building services systems. You will collaborate closely with our partner, Salix Construction Technologies, on major Australian infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Data Management

• Review as-built project information and extract detailed asset data for infrastructure and building systems.
• Interpret and cross-check technical documentation to identify required asset attributes.
• Develop, populate, and maintain Master Asset Registers aligned to agreed schemas and standards.
• Validate asset data against source documentation, identifying gaps, conflicts, or inconsistencies.
• Update and validate asset data within BIM models and associated databases where required.
• Ensure asset data complies with defined standards, naming conventions, and regulatory requirements.

Technical & Project Coordination

• Work in accordance with BIM standards, workflows, and asset data protocols.
• Coordinate BIM integration with other technologies (e.g., scheduling, data export/import).
• Perform quality control checks to ensure asset data accuracy and consistency across multiple systems.
• Clearly flag missing or ambiguous data for clarification rather than assumption.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with project teams, O&M stakeholders, and facility managers to ensure asset data supports operational needs.
• Promote best practices in BIM and asset data management within the team.
• Communicate data issues, assumptions, and risks clearly and concisely.
• Apply and support best practices in asset data management within delivery teams.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate documentation of asset data processes and decisions.
• Generate reports to track asset data progress, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Data Science, or related field preferred.
• BIM certification (Autodesk Certified Professional or equivalent) preferred.
• Equivalent practical experience in asset data extraction or construction documentation review will be considered.

Experience

• Minimum 2-5 years in
  BIM Modelling/Coordination (MEP),
  Construction Data Management, or related roles.

• Preferred experience in:

• Working on major infrastructure projects (e.g. MRT, LRT, Rail) is advantageous.

• Practical exposure to MEP systems, fire safety, and security infrastructure.

• Familiarity with operations and maintenance requirements for large-scale facilities.

• Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting technical documentation, including:

• Construction drawings (plans, sections, schedules)

• Manufacturer datasheets

• Warranty documentation

• Installation and commissioning records

Skills

• Proficiency in BIM software: Revit, AutoCAD, ACC; Dynamo (optional).
• Understanding of asset management principles, civil construction, and/or facilities management processes.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of railway systems and building services integration.
