About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Control (QC) Manager to lead our QC operations and uphold the highest standards of food safety and product quality.

This role reports directly to the Quality Senior Manager and plays a key leadership role in ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. You will work closely with Production, Maintenance, and QA teams to maintain and continuously improve the company's food safety and quality management systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all raw materials meet food safety and quality specifications before use.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor in-process and finished product inspections.
  • Oversee product sampling, testing, and release activities.
  • Maintain laboratory accuracy and proper testing procedures.
  • Ensure products comply with HACCP, ISO 22000, Prerequisite Programmes (PRPs), and other food safety management requirements.
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of QC equipment.
  • Validate analytical methods and ensure accuracy of test results.
  • Review and approve QC reports and certificates of analysis.
  • Lead investigations on food safety and quality deviations and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with production to identify and address root causes of quality defects.
  • Maintain QC records, test results, and inspection logs.
  • Prepare and present quality and food safety reports to management.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate QC staff to develop competency and performance.
  • Promote adherence to safety, hygiene, and GMP practices.
  • Recommend process and system improvements to enhance food safety and reduce defects.
  • Support product trials and new product development testing.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, PRPs, GMP, and food safety management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory operations, quality audits, and CAPA management.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication abilities.
  • Experience in the food or confectionery industry will be an added advantage.
  • Based in Johor Bahru manufacturing facility.
