About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic team at China Southern Airlines (Penang Branch) as an Airport Operation Officer. In this full-time position based in Penang, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the airport and our airline services. Your work will directly contribute to the overall success and growth of our organisation within the airline industry.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the airport, including passenger handling, aircraft turnaround, and baggage management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational matters, liaising with various stakeholders such as ground handlers, air traffic control, and security personnel
- Monitor and respond to any operational disruptions or irregularities, implementing effective contingency plans to minimise the impact on our customers
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to all aspects of airport operations
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of our airport services
- Assist in the training and development of airport operation team members
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and company policies
What we're looking for
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in airport or airline operations, preferably in a similar role, will be given priority.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and respond quickly to dynamic situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Proficient in Madarin, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Thorough understanding of airport operations, including passenger handling, aircraft turnaround, and baggage management
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to support and mentor other team members
