Job Description

Role purpose

The Sales Merchandiser is responsible for executing in-store merchandising, improving product availability and visibility, supporting sales growth at outlet level, and ensuring execution of promotions and planograms. The role combines retail execution with order-taking, basic sales support and relationship management of outlets/distributors.

Responsibilities

  • Execute merchandising standards in assigned outlets (planograms, shelf placement, facings, POS materials, price tags).

  • Ensure product availability: monitor stocks, place replenishment orders with distributors/warehouse, and prevent out-of-stock.

  • Drive sell-out by implementing in-store promotions, sampling, and displays; follow campaign checklists.

  • Collect daily/weekly sell-in and sell-out data; report on stock levels, display compliance and promotional results.

  • Build and maintain relationships with outlet owners, store managers and distributor sales reps.

  • Monitor competitor activity and in-store pricing; report intelligence to Area Sales.

  • Ensure correct invoicing / delivery documentation and assist with returns or claims as needed.

  • Conduct monthly category resets and ad-hoc visual merchandising executions.

  • Train outlet staff on product features, POS usage and promotional mechanics when required.

  • Maintain field records: visit logs, photos of displays, promotional checklists, and expense claims.

  • Adhere to company policies on safety, hygiene and brand representation.

Requirements

  • Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 years of working experience in related field and especially for FMCG product category.

  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
