Role Summary

We are seeking a highly hands-on Mechanical & Hydraulic Technician with experience in diving systems, hydraulic power packs, winches, and general mechanical equipment maintenance. Experience with ROVs and engines is beneficial but optional. This role supports all mechanical and hydraulic repair activities, workshop readiness, equipment mobilisations, and onsite technical support. The technician must be able to troubleshoot effectively, organise repair workflows, and maintain clear maintenance checklists and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical & Hydraulic Repairs

Perform troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of:

• Diving systems (air panels, compressors, LP/HP systems, umbilicals).
• Hydraulic power packs, winches, spooling gear, and lifting equipment.
• Mechanical assemblies, fittings, valves, hoses, pressure systems.
• (Optional) ROV mechanical modules, thrusters, and housings.
• (Optional) Small engines, diesel units, pumps, and generators.
• Conduct preventive maintenance based on company's checklists and OEM standards.
• Execute pressure testing, flow testing, leak checks, and basic load tests.

• Assist with mobilisations, demobilisations, and equipment staging/packing.

• Maintenance Planning & Documentation

• Prepare structured checklists, repair logs, service reports, and job sheets.

• Maintain accurate maintenance intervals and planning schedules.
• Update the asset register with repair dates, serial numbers, and inspection status.

• Maintain compliance with IMCA, manufacturer, and the company's operational standards.

• Workshop Operations & Housekeeping

• Keep the workshop organised, safe, clean, and operational.

• Ensure all tools, lifting accessories, test benches, and hydraulic rigs are properly maintained and calibrated where needed.
• Arrange spare parts, fittings, hoses, connectors, and consumables in a systematic layout.

• Support packing, storage, and receiving of mechanical/hydraulic equipment.

• Field Support (Local Travel When Required)

• Travel within Malaysia for onsite servicing, troubleshooting, client support, and equipment demonstrations when required.

• Assist BDM or Ops team during customer visits for technical clarifications and simple demonstrations.
• Ensure safe handling, rig-up, and rig-down of equipment during site work.

Requirements:

Education & Technical Skills

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics, Hydraulics, or related field.
• Good hands-on experience with tools, hydraulic systems, mechanical assemblies, and pressure systems.
• Ability to read mechanical/hydraulic schematics and follow troubleshooting sequences.
• Understanding of diving equipment standards is an advantage (IMCA/ADCI knowledge beneficial).
• Comfortable with lifting, rigging basics, hose crimping, fittings, and mechanical alignment.

Experience

• 2–5 years in mechanical/hydraulic repair or maintenance roles.
• Experience in one or more of the following required or highly preferred:
• Diving systems (air panels, HP/LP compressors, manifold/valves).
• Hydraulic power packs, winches, spooling units.
• Mechanical repair of subsea or offshore equipment.
• Experience with ROVs or engines is a value-add, not mandatory.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
• Self-driven, responsible, and able to work independently in the JB workshop.
• Able to travel within Malaysia when needed.
• Good communication, reporting discipline, and reliability.
• Physically fit and comfortable working with tools, hoses, and heavy equipment.
