Our Center of Excellence is the core of our technical strategy, and we are looking for a motivated Junior Azure Cloud Architect to help us shape the future of our cloud platform. This is an ideal entry-level position for a recent graduate or a professional with 1-2 years of experience. You will work directly with our Cloud Architect, playing a crucial, hands-on role in turning architectural vision into reality, ensuring our platform meets the rigorous security and compliance standards of the banking industry.

Key Responsibilities

 Platform & Workload Design: Actively assist in designing the foundational platform landing zone and specific workload deployments. This includes creating diagrams, technical specifications, and contributing to configuration and deployment strategies.

 Proof of Concept (POC) Execution: Take ownership of building and deploying PoCs to validate new Azure services, third-party tools, and architectural patterns. This involves hands-on configuration of services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure SQL.

 Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, test, and maintain reusable IaC scripts using Terraform or Bicep to ensure consistent, compliant, and automated deployment of all cloud resources.

 Well-Architected Governance: Help implement and monitor governance policies aligned with the Azure Well-Architected Framework (AWAF). Focus on enforcing security, cost management, and operational excellence.

 Collaboration & Engagement: Work closely with Cybersecurity, and Development teams to provide cloud guidance. Communicate with technology vendor presales and project teams to evaluate new solutions and support integration.

 Security & Compliance: Help implement security controls using Azure Policy and Microsoft defender for Cloud. Ensure all designs adhere to financial regulations like Bank Negara Malaysia's RMiT framework.

 Optimization: Assist in monitoring cloud consumption and provide recommendations for cost and performance optimization across the Azure environment.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

 Experience Level: Open to fresh graduates with a strong academic record/internships, and candidates with 1-2 years of hands-on IT experience (e.g., system administration, development, IT support).

 Azure Fundamentals: A solid understanding of core Microsoft Azure services and cloud concepts (compute, storage, networking, identity).

 Passion for Infrastructure: A genuine interest in how systems are built and automated, with a strong desire to excel in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

 Scripting Ability: Practical experience with a scripting language like Azure PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

 Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to internal teams and external vendors.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have):

 Azure Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Administrator (AZ-104).

 IaC Exposure: Practical experience with Terraform or Bicep.

 Programming Familiarity: Basic understanding of a programming language

 Container Experience: Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

 CI/CD Knowledge: Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools, particularly Azure DevOps.

 Industry Context: Experience working in a regulated industry like banking or FinTech is a major advantage.
