Job Overview

As the Cloud Architect for Migration & Modernization, your primary responsibility is to lead and orchestrate the migration of IT systems, applications, and data to the cloud. Additionally, you will be formulating and implementing strategies for application modernization. The role involves providing technical leadership and collaborating closely with key stakeholders and a broader project team to successfully plan and deliver cloud migration and/or modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage stakeholders to comprehend business requirements, establish the migration and/or modernization approach, and drive the execution.
  • Conduct a thorough discovery and assessment of the IT inventory to recommend the appropriate migration strategy, portfolio prioritization, and migration wave planning.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of existing systems and applications to develop a migration plan, including risk identification and the development of mitigation steps.
  • Design and implement cloud architectures based on the Well-Architected Framework.
  • Design and implement a baseline cloud environment (also known as Landing Zone) based on best practices to facilitate migration at scale.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to enable automation and ensure consistent deployments.
  • Define security measures to safeguard data and applications during and after migration, adhering to industry regulations and organizational policies.
  • Define the operations strategy to enable the customer team to manage and operate workloads in the cloud.
  • Develop and implement a modernization strategy for existing cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the broader migration team to create a comprehensive migration and/or modernization runbook that will serve as a guide for implementation.
  • Train team members on cloud migration best practices and conduct knowledge transfer to enhance the team's competency for future migrations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and other related field
  • At least 5 years of hands - on experience in AWS Cloud Platform
  • Prior experience of server migration will be added advantage.
  • Certified AWS Solutions Architect is a must
  • Experience of IaS such as Cloud Formation, Terraform etic will be added advantage
  • Experience of software development and understanding of SDLC will be added advantage
  • Experience of RDBMS / NoSQL database such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Postgres SQL, DynamoDb etc will be added advantage
  • Experience in formal presentations, white boarding and small group presentations.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English is preferred
